Michigan football is working on its elite 2026 recruiting class, but the Wolverines have also shifted their focus to the 2027 class with another commitment on Monday.
This pledge is from three-star offensive lineman Tristan Dare, a 6-foot-4, 290-pound interior offensive lineman out of Southlake, Texas, who is ranked No. 496 overall in the 2027 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

This commitment was one you could see coming. Experts from 247 Sports and Rivals/On3 projected Dare to the Michigan Wolverines at the end of last week.
Michigan football beat out Ohio State and others for Tristan Dare
Michigan football earned the commitment of Dare over some other notable offers, including one from Ohio State on June 23rd, a couple of weeks after the Wolverines first entered the fray. Dare's impressive offer sheet had 30 total offers, including four from SEC programs: Oklahoma, Florida, Ole Miss, and Missouri.
Penn State and Ohio State each offered from the Big Ten, along with Wisconsin, Maryland, Nebraska, and some others, but the Wolverines won out, adding a second piece to the offensive line in the 2027 class. Louis Esposito, a three-star from the state of Michigan, and the son of defensive line coach Lou Esposito, committed last month.
The Wolverines have started to trend in the right direction with four-star quarterback Malachi Zeigler. The 6-foot-2, 209-pound quarterback from Louisiana is ranked 96th overall via 247 Sports and 156h overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings.
It feels like a commitment from the blue-chip quarterback could come soon. Dare gives Michigan two potential starters on the offensive line down the road. Esposito is likely an interior guy, just like Dare, but you need grinders on the inside, and both of them fit that mold. They are each on the verge of being ranked as four-stars, too.
Dare plays right tackle in high school, just like Esposito plays tackle. Keegan was a high school tackle, too. Those players can make the best guards. Dare is also known for having a mean streak, which comes across on the film if you watch. He loves to finish, which you love to see as a Michigan football fan.
That's a good place to start. It will allow the Wolverines to swing for the fences at offensive tackle, while also keeping the momentum on the recruiting trail moving forward.
