After defeating Saint Louis, the Michigan Wolverines find themselves, once again, in the Sweet Sixteen. For the second year in a row and in the second season under Dusty May.
While some have said that Michigan basketball is the most vulnerable and fraudulent No. 1 seed, the one thing that cannot be ignored is the success that this Wolverine team has had in such short order. Their 33 wins are the most in school history. And even though they did not win the Big Ten tournament, their dominance of the Big Ten throughout the regular season was undeniable. The Wolverines' resume speaks for itself.
Michigan baskeball keeps dominating
Aday Mara has been a dominant force all season. Elliot Cadeau has been undeniable as a big game shot maker, and Yaxel Lendeborg has proven time and time again that he could be Michigan's best player. And that is just three of the key components of a team with many more.
With all this success, the Michigan Wolverines should not constantly be overlooked in the national landscape as they have. Vulnerable? How can a team be this vulnerable with they have both the offense and defense to win a championship? Fraudulent? How can a team be fraudulent when they all do is win? And then win some more.
There will be a week before the Wolverines will play again. Maybe by then, Michigan will have garnered more respect. Maybe they will have not. Whatever the case, Michigan is still in the Sweet Sixteen.
Life is pretty sweet.
