Michigan basketball is in full offseason mode after losing to the Auburn Tigers in the Sweet 16 on Friday night.

The Wolverines were mentioned with a bunch of transfer portal targets, even before their loss against Auburn, but that activity should only increase now that the Wolverines have been eliminated.

Early on, it's clear that Michigan is looking to fill multiple spots in the lineup. The Wolverines have been connected to centers, forwards, and guards. But a new target on the guard front, according to Sam Kayser, is Tyrone Riley IV.

Riley is a 6-foot-6 guard who played for San Francisco last season He started all 34 games, averaging 9.6 points per game along with six rebounds. He shot 32.2 percent from 3-point range, while averaging 1.1 assists and 1.2 steals, as well as 0.6 blocks.

He seems like an ideal replacement for Rubin Jones. He could play the 2/3 for the Wolverines and did make 29 3-pointers, while shooting 61 percent on 2-point attempts. 19 other high-major programs have been in contact, including many in the NCAA tournament, so Riley is a name to watch but it won't be an easy recruitment to win.

Michigan basketball targeting Summit League Player of the Year

Another new transfer portal target of Michigan basketball is Marquel Sutton, a 6-foot-7 forward from Omaha. He led Omaha to the NCAA tournament for the first time and earned Summit League Player of the Year honors in the process.

Michigan basketball has reached out to Sutton, according to Tobias Bass. The foward averaged 18.7 points and 7.9 rebounds last season. He's not a great 3-point shooter, making just 28 percent on his attempts during his career, but he shot 53 percent on 2-pointers last season. He's a career 51-percent shooter on 2-point attempts.

Sutton earned himself 6.3 free-throw attempts per game, too. He's not much of a creator, but could be an effective 3/4. At 6-foot-7, he's a little undersized to play the four in the Big Ten, but he's got the ability to attack off the dribble and has a reliable mid-range game.

Sutton does a lot of damage in the post and shows the ability to hit spot-up 3-pointers. He would be a versatile piece who offers a different scoring profile than anybody else on the roster currently, outside of Danny Wolf, who, mentally, I am already counting as gone.
