With about five and a half minutes gone in the first half Western Kentucky was within four of Dusty May's club. The Hilltoppers would never climb any closer again. The offense took off with all five starters scoring 11 or more. Jace Howard poured in his first points of the season, while 11 different Wolverines helped the team pass the century mark for the second time in 13 tries.
Here's three of the takeaways from the vehement victory by Michigan basketball.
1. Nine different Wolverines contributed to tie a program record
On Sunday night, Michigan basketball put a bow on their holiday winnings with 19 3-pointers against the Hilltoppers. Michigan tied its record and was one short of equaling the Big Ten mark. Nine players hit one from behind the arc to post a season-high for points in 2024.
Nimari Burnett had the most with five, while a host of Wolverines had two or more. They were one shy of going 50% from deep. Western Kentucky had 14 less triples and were 20% from there. Don McHenry matched his season average with 18 points. Only two other Hilltoppers were in double figures.
