Michigan Basketball: 3 takeaways from a contested win over Iowa
By Nick Popio
2. Winning on the road in the Big Ten is practically impossible
Through the first week of conference play only three teams have won on the road. Michigan State won at Minnesota. Oregon won at USC and maybe the most impressive win of the bunch is Michigan's win at the Kohl Center. Iowa was a shot away from doing the same on Saturday afternoon and a buzzer-beater away from being 0-2.
Michigan's 17 turnovers let the Hawkeyes hang around in the first 20 minutes. Iowa converted 19 points off of those turnovers, compared to the two points Michigan basketball had off of four Iowa turnovers. Danny Wolf's weakness continues to be his lack of ball security as he committed four more in the victory.
Michigan basketball won't have to go away from home, in conference, until next year when they visit the Los Angeles circuit. They'll have neutral court sites in the next two against the SEC. In Michigan's first two Big Ten wins they have only won by a combined five points. Iowa won by a point and lost by two. It goes to show how prolific this conference is shaping up to be.
