Kyle Whittingham has arrived in Ann Arbor, and Michigan's newest football coach is already capturing the hearts of the Wolverines and their fans.
During Whittingham's introductory press conference over the weekend, a reporter asked him about his feelings for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He gave a perfect response.
"Just to be clear, do you dislike Ohio State?" The reporter asked.
"I do now, I guess," Whittingham responded with a smirk.
Kyle Whittingham is fitting into Michigan just fine
As a highly tenured head coach, having spent over two decades with the Utah Utes, it wouldn't be surprising if Whittingham had given a roundabout answer, saying that the Buckeyes and their head coach, Ryan Day, deserve respect for what they've achieved since the turn of the century.
Instead, he gave a perfect answer for the ears of Wolverine fans across the country. Of course, he doesn't like Ohio State, how could he? He's the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines!
The Game is one of the most notorious rivalry matchups in all of college football, if not the world of sports as a whole, and the hatred between the Wolverines and the Buckeyes is as palpable as possible.

Whittingham had no real tie or connection to Ohio State or Michigan until now, but he has rapidly made his alliances known, and that is something he will have to continue to do as his tenure in Ann Arbor unfolds.
It's a completely new era at Michigan, and it should have Wolverine fans excited for the future as the program and (hopefully) the players move on from the past few years. Whittingham is the perfect guy for the job, and he has continued to prove that to everyone.
