Every Michigan fan has their take on Jim Harbaugh. A lot of people love him for bringing a National Championship to the Wolverines for the first time in years, while some have other thoughts about him. Well, at this point, it is all moot point because Harbaugh made his choice to leave for the NFL, but that doesn't mean he isn't teaming up with some former Michigan coaches.
Harbaugh's first season with the Chargers ended with an exit in the Wild Card round of the Playoffs against the Houston Texans. Since the end of the season, Harbaugh has been fine-tuning his coaching staff, and he just brought on a former Wolverines coach as an analyst.
Ex-Michigan offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell is joining Harbaugh's staff as an offensive assistant. Campbell was recently fired from Michigan as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach under now-head coach Sherrone Moore.

Campbell, before becoming the offensive coordinator this past season at Michigan, was the quarterbacks coach for the Wolverines a season before the season they won the National Championship. Campbell was also the coach of JJ McCarthy, who went on to be drafted in the first round of the following NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
After a rough season offensively, both from the quarterback position and the offense as a whole, Campbell was fired in December. The Wolverines were ranked second to last in the offensively Big Ten in 2024, averaging just 286.2 yards per game, and were last in average passing yards per game with 129.1.
With Campbell joining the Chargers staff, Harbaugh adds yet another former Michigan coach to his staff, joining defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, secondary coach Steve Clinkscale, and defensive line coach Mike Elston.
