Friday might be a rough day for Ohio State fans, who have been expecting Michigan football to get the "hammer" for the past two years.
Buckeye fans hate that Michigan football has won four consecutive games in the rivalry. They also hate that their team lost to a 6-5 Michigan team during their national championship season, denying the Buckeyes the chance to win the Big Ten title, win "The Game", and do all of the things that the Wolverines' 2023 national championship team was able to do.
That team was quarterbacked by J.J. McCarthy, who has a perfect 3-0 record against Ohio State. Therefore, he has the right to say whatever he wants against the school that took the commitment of Kyle McCord over his.
On Thursday, McCarthy, who is now the starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, was asked about rookie teammate Donovan Jackson, who was part of the Ohio State national championship team but never beat Michigan.
The former Michigan football quarterback praised his teammate, while still getting in a good laugh at the expense of Ohio State football.

"Us Michigan guys, we get a little skeptical of the mentality and the tough guy-ness of Ohio State, but he absolutely proved it. It was a sight to see, and I just love how fired up he got after that, too. He's gonna be a great player," McCarthy said about a play of Jackson's via Will Ragatz of SI.
McCarthy was talking about a block of Jackson's on a screen play. It was an impressive block. He's a good player but McCarthy's comments ring true.
Michigan players have a right to question the toughness of Ohio State players and even chuckle at their expense, especially after the results of the past four years.
To the winners go the spoils.
