On the eve of Michigan football and Central Michigan, there have been some positive and negative developments for the Wolverines.
There still isn't official word on Rod Moore, the two-time All-Big Ten safety who has been working his way back from a knee injury suffered in the spring of 2024.
Moore was close to playing last week. Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore said that Moore was "highly likely" to play this week. With Nebraska, and its stellar pass offense looming next week, it would be good for Moore to get back in the lineup and get his feet wet before Big Ten play.
The secondary has struggled, and it could use Moore, who can be the quarterback of the defense, which is needed in the worst way. He's also got elite ball skills, is an elite tackler, and could even play some in the nickel.

According to Chris Balas of The Wolverine, it doesn't sound like Giovanni El-Hadi will play. There's a chance, but what's even worse is that another starter on the offensive line could be out. Balas didn't reveal who it was, but there could be some moving parts on the offensive line.
The good news, though, is that Balas reported he "believes" that Klein will be back for the Central Michigan game. The Wolverines could probably get by without him, yet getting Klein back this week, even if the snaps are limited, should help him be even more prepared next week, when the massive tight end from Germany will be needed after 93 yards receiving in the first game.
This team doesn't have many weapons. Klein is one of them.
