Gut reactions: Dusty May's Michigan basketball debut lives up to the hype
Michigan basketball dominated in the first game for new head coach Dusty May and here are some of the gut reactions.
L.J Cason provides a spark
There has been a ton of buzz about freshman guard L.J. Cason and you could see why on Monday night. The former UCF commitment looks like a huge steal for Michigan basketball and another reminder that May just recognizes talent.
Cason came out in the second half and scored eight quick points thanks to a pair of 3-pointers. He had a couple of lapses -- on defense and trying to force a bad shot on offense -- but outside of that he didn't look like a freshman at all.
Cason was comfortable creating out of a ball screen and found Tre Donaldson for a 3-pointer. The dude is so smooth for a freshman that he's going to be hard to keep on the bench after that debut.
