When a player leaves Michigan or Ohio State, the hate that drives the rivalry doesn't just disappear. That rivalry will forever live on, and for former safety Makari Paige, he is still making sure to get his jabs in on the Buckeyes.
Anytime a Michigan player can troll Ohio State, they are never going to pass up the opportunity, and Paige did just that with his recent Instagram story post. Paige posted a photo of him playing the College Football 26 video game, as the Wolverines, of course, and it seems he was playing the heated rivalry against Ohio State.
Paige was playing in The Shoe against the Buckeyes in the game, and it was actually his caption on the photo that should have Michigan fans crying with laughter and saluting the former Wolverine safety.
"EA gotta fix this, it's never this hard playing there," Paige's post said.

In the photo, it can be seen that Paige is losing to the Buckeyes, and his troll comes from all the times Michigan beat the Buckeyes, even on their own home field. Paige was a part of the class that didn't lose a single game to Ohio State during their time at Michigan. Ohio State unfortunately broke that streak this past season, but Paige can always hold that over the Buckeyes.
Paige is trolling the Buckeyes at a masterful level with this post, especially with it being in The Shoe, somewhere Ohio State likes to think they are unbeatable. News flash, they aren't.
Makari Paige's post Michigan career in the NFL has been a work in process
Paige has some time to be playing College Football 26, as his time in the NFL has been a bit of a rocky one since leaving the comforts of Ann Arbor. Paige signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but was recently released on June 2 and is now on the lookout for his next team.
The former Michigan safety declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, but ended up going undrafted and signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent. Paige was extremely close to making the final roster, but was cut on August 26, on the day the final roster was set.
Paige had a stellar Michigan career and was even a part of that stifling 2023 National Championship-winning Michigan defense. From 2022 to 2024, his final three seasons of college football, Paige had a total of 127 tackles, 59 solo tackles, eight passes defended, one sack, and three interceptions. His final seasons with the Wolverines were by far his best before heading to the NFL.
