Former 4-star TE prospect trending toward transferring away from the Wolverines

Despite being a highly-touted prospect in the class of 2024, this young tight end has yet to see any in-game action for the Michigan Wolverines.

Just two years ago, the Michigan Wolverines were elated to learn that head coach Sherrone Moore had landed the commitment of four-star Brady Prieskorn, the No. 10 tight end in the class of 2024.

After redshirting his freshman season (2024), some fans were ready to see Prieskorn in action this season, but four games into the season, the young tight end has yet to record a stat and is rapidly trending toward a likely transfer portal entry.

Prieskorn, a Michigan native, was an AP All-State selection coming out of high school and chose the Wolverines over other powerhouse programs like the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, and even his brother's alma mater, the Ole Miss Rebels.

Now, two years into his tenure at Michigan, Prieskorn has yet to take the field in Maize and Blue. So, it wouldn't be surprising if he heads to the portal after his redshirt freshman season.

Has Michigan football had success with its class of 2026?

Prieskorn isn't the only true sophomore who has seen minimal playing time, but there are also quite a few success stories from Michigan's previous freshman class.

Running back Jordan Marshall has already racked up 189 rushing yards (309 yards over the last two seasons) and three touchdowns this year.

Wide receiver Channing Goodwin, yet another second-year player, didn't record any stats last year but has earned a resounding 112 yards on just seven receptions (16 yards per catch) so far this season.

Even fellow sophomore tight end Hogan Hansen has found his footing with the Wolverines, earning a combined 121 yards and two touchdowns on 10 receptions over the last two seasons, earning the reps over Prieskorn.

Yes, it was undeniably exciting when Michigan landed the in-state four-star prospect, but the young tight end should do what he believes is best for his future in the sport, and that might not be a future with the Wolverines.
