Michigan football might need to check to see if there is a big red target painted on its back, as it seems like any chance someone gets to troll the Wolverines, they take their shot. A video has been circling around of a Michigan football practice, and sure, it doesn't paint the team in the best light.
The video is of a Michigan practice where a punter is snapped the ball, he proceeds to drop it, pick it up, and then punt it off the head of his teammate in front of him. Definitely not a good look, however, the caption on the video implies that this it ia recent and of the Kyle Whittingham era, when in turn it absolutely is not.
This video is from November 2023, the season the Wolverines ended up winning the National Championship. So not only are they trolling for no reason, they are trolling a team that actually won it all in the end, even with a few embarrassing moments in practice.

Michigan can prove all the haters wrong in Year 1 under Kyle Whittingham
It is clear that the Wolverines still have quite a few haters that probably aren't just Ohio State fans, as this video proves that. However, instead of clapping back, the Wolverines just need to keep their heads down and put in the work, which luckily is exactly Whittingham's style.
Whittingham has been in the coaching game for quite some time, so I am sure he has learned to tune out the noise, and he really will need to in Ann Arbor. Ever since the Connor Stallions incident, it seems like more and more fans are apt to see Michigan fail, and for the last two seasons, they haven't fared the best.
Now, Michigan is heading into a new era with Whittingham at the helm, and it is an interesting one as the 66-year-old will bring his own style to the Wolverines. Sure, Whittingham is similar in the offensive mindset of running the ball more than passing it, but his recruiting excellence has really improved with Michigan attached to his name.
Whittingham was already a great recruiter, but now with Michigan behind him, he has been able to bring in the No. 10 recruiting class, according to Rivals Team Rankings, and the No. 4 class in the Big Ten. Normally, when a coach is fired, recruits jump ship like the plague just broke out, but Whittingham was able to stop the bleeding and bring in some great prospects.
It may not be easy with a tough schedule filled with the Big Ten elite, like Indiana, Oregon, and Ohio State, in his first season, but Whittingham has the chance to make a splash in his first season.
