While Michigan has the weekend off from the football field, its former stars showed out in the NFL, including in one of the best games of the weekend on Monday Night Football. The Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams took center stage on MNF, with former Wolverines making their presence known.

The Rams are home to quite a few former Michigan players like running back Blake Corum and linebacker Josaish Stewart, who both made plays that kept the L.A. in the game against the Bills. Even though Buffalo took over the win in overtime, both Corum and Stewart showed out in what many believed was a Super Bowl preview.

Blake Corum scores his first touchdown of the 2026 season with the Rams

Corum is in his third season with the Rams after being a third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Sitting behind starter Kyren Williams, Corum tends to be the third-down back for L.A., but typically doesn't see the field all that often. Against Buffalo, however, Corum was the spark plug at times for the Rams, with key runs and even bigger catches out of the backfield.

Coming out of the half, the Rams needed a big touchdown in order to keep up with the Bills' offense behind quarterback Josh Allen. Corum capped off a nearly five-minute drive out of the half with a one-yard touchdown run, his first of the season.

In a passing game that was dominated by wide receiver Puka Nacua, who finished the night with 17 receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown, Corum was able to reel in three receptions for 53 yards, his longest being a 34-yard gain.

Even though Corum isn't the starter for the Rams, he finds a way to make a difference for this team, making him an asset, especially if Williams were to suffer an injury like he did last season.

Josaiah Stewart record first sack of the season, coming against MVP-candidate Josh Allen

Coming off a solid rookie season, Stewart has started the 2026 season fairly strong with 14 total tackles, four solo tackles, but recorded his first sack of the season against Allen, who is not easy to bring down.

Less than a minute into the game, Stewart was able to help the Rams' defense get off the field thanks to his first sack of the season, forcing the Bills to settle for a field goal. Stewart ran around the entire line to get to Allen, coming in on his blind side, and bringing him down for a loss of nearly 10 yards.

Stewart recorded just three sacks in his rookie year and is already close to surpassing his stat line from 2025. On a Rams defense that is slowly finding its rhythm this season, Stewart is carving out a position for himself in the linebacker room, and that sack on Allen was a great way to make a statement.
