The No. 4 Wolverines are back on track after securing a 10-point victory over the unranked Washington Huskies.
Following Michigan's loss to the unranked Wisconsin Badgers, people were quick to discredit the Wolverines and give credit to the "worse" team. After last night's performance, Michigan head coach Dusty May clearly knew where credit was due.
"You guys earned that win. Road wins, especially in the [Big Ten], are very difficult," May said in his post-game locker room speech. "We stayed together. This is how a road locker room is supposed to feel... Let's stay together and keep being great freaking teammates."
Michigan's team effort was enough to get past Washington
During the team's trip out west, in which the Wolverines would play the Huskies and the Oregon Ducks, Aday Mara, Morez Johnson Jr., and Yaxel Lendeborg combined for a resounding 50 points in Michigan's 82-72 win over Washington.
May also made sure to give props to an unsung hero during his postgame speech, Roddy Gayle Jr., who came off the bench to contribute nine points, five assists, four rebounds, and two steals, in a masterclass performance on both ends of the court.
"Good job, men. Hard-fought win. Good work," May concluded before heading off to his post-game press conference.
The Wolverines' head coach also made sure to emphasize that the road work isn't over quite yet, with the Ducks on the horizon. No, Oregon isn't as good as it has been in recent years, but pulling off a win in the Ducks' home arena is no easy task.
