A big part of the NBA draft is players seeing their dreams come true. Danny Wolf, a Michigan basketball player this past season, was one of those players on Wednesday night.
Despite being projected to go a little earlier in the first round of the 2025 NBA draft, the Michigan forward achieved a dream, getting selected 27th overall by the Brooklyn Nets.
For a few minutes, you wondered if Wolf was going to fall out of the first round, which would have been unfortunate. Yet, the 6-foot-10 forward is too talented, and the Nets finally took him off the board with their fourth first-round pick.

Someday, NBA teams will regret passing on Wolf. Still, getting picked in the first round is a huge deal. It means a guaranteed contract, and the reaction of Danny Wolf's brother, who was in attendance, says it all.
You can see how much it means to the entire Wolf family for Danny to get picked. His brother was crying on national TV, and who could blame him?
Wolf isn't a player who generated any notable buzz coming out of high school. That's why he signed with Yale. He came to Michigan expecting to take on a starting role, which he did, but he also became the Wolverines' best player.
Michigan basketball fans will be forever grateful to Wolf for helping the Wolverines win the Big Ten tournament championship, in addition to reaching the Sweet 16.
Heck, after seeing his brother's reaction, and thinking about all that Wolf meant to the program, nobody would blame Michigan fans if they shed a tear, too.
