The Michigan Wolverines are the only team in the 2025 NFL draft to have two first-round picks after Colston Loveland was selected by the Chicago Bears 10th overall.

Loveland got booed because the draft is in Green Bay, the home of the Bears' arch-rival. However, fans of the Monsters of the Midway should be ecstatic at the addition of the 6-foot-5, 250-pound tight end from Idaho.
A four-star recruit in the 2022 class, Loveland made an immediate impact. As a freshman, he caught a 45-yard touchdown against Ohio State. Loveland had 56 receptions this past season for 582 yards and five touchdowns. As a sophomore, he caught 45 passes for 649 yards and five touchdowns.

The Gooding, Idaho, native was limited this past season due to injury, so most NFL draft experts projected Penn State tight end Tyler Warren to go in front of Loveland. Yet, there was a ton of buzz late, and the Michigan Wolverines now have three top-10 picks in the past two draft classes.
Even without a good quarterback situation, Loveland thrived this season for Michigan football. He had three games with at least seven receptions for at least 80 yards. He also had a career-high 113 yards on seven receptions against Oregon.
That was him being the focal point. Loveland won't be that in Chicago. He will become the new best friend of Caleb Williams. New head coach Ben Johnson helped Sam La Porta thrive in Detroit and there's no reason to believe he can't do the same with Loveland.
