It's hard to imagine how the first half for Michigan football could have gone worse than it did for the Wolverines on Saturday night.

Maybe the cherry on top of a half fans will want to forget is the fact that Bryce Underwood, the five-star freshman quarterback, was involved in what looked like a shouting match with running back Justice Haynes during the first half of the game against Oklahoma.

The Sooners have built a 14-0 lead at the half. Yet, Michigan football is lucky to be that close. The Wolvernes have advanced the ball into OU territory a few times, but Michigan has struggled to convert on third down and was forced to punt after passing up a long field goal attempt.

Then, after failing to convert a fourth-and-two, Dominic Zvada missed a 32-yard field goal. That was when the score was 7-0. Now, it's 14-0. Michigan will start with the ball in the second half but things will need to change quickly if the Wolverines are going to pull off a comeback.

Underwood is 5 of 10 for 76 yards. He still doesn't have a rushing attempt, even though the zone read keeper appears to be wide open. Haynes had 12 carries for 36 yards. Michigan has 42 rushing yards total compared to 61 for the Sooners.

If it wasn't for an overthrow interception by John Mateer, a roughing the punter penalty, and a drop on third down by the Sooners, this would be a blowout. The frustration is understandable. It's still not something you want to see in the first half of a game Michigan expected to win.
