Gameday Recipe: Skirt Steak Tacos

Steak tacos are an easy and delicious gameday meal, especially if you love to fire up the grill. Here is your guide on how to make some delcious gameday steak tacos.

1. Season your skirt steak with a rub of your choice. First, brush the steak with some olive oil as a binder. I like to use a carne asada rub for my steak but you can season it to your liking.

2. Heat your grill to 450 degrees. You want a high heat to get a good sear on the steak. Skirt steak is a pretty thin cut so it doesn't take too long to cook. Once your grill is at the correct heat, throw on your steak for four to five minutes per side or until you get an internal temperature of 130 degrees. Remove the steak and let it rest of ten minutes. When slicing the steak, make sure to first slice it horizontally and then turn the steak 90 degrees and slice it vertically. Skirt steak is a lean piece of meat so you want to make sure and cut against the grain to cut the muscle fibers and make your steak as tender as possible.

3. Next, chop up your toppings of choice. Traditional and authentic tacos will only have onion and cilantro. However, I sometimes like to add lettuce, tomato, jalapeno, avocado and queso fresco. The toppings are completely up to you! Traditional tacos will come in a corn tortilla but that is also completely up to you. Corn or flour tortilla will both be delicious! Lastly, don't forget to slice up your lime wedges to squeeze onto your tacos for a nice acidic kick!

Gameday Beer: Modelo Especial

We aren't going to get too fancy here or over think it. There is no better beer to go with tacos than Modelo. A delicious Mexican Pilsner with an ABV of 4.4% is the perfect way to wash down your tacos while watching the Wolverines.

Gameday Prop Bet: Justice Haynes and Jordan Marshall combined 3+ touchdowns at -110

DraftKings Sportsbook is offering combined player props this week. Justice Haynes has been nothing short of spectacular so far this year. He has carried the ball 35 times for 284 yards and four touchdowns. Tony Alford said on the Inside Michigan Football podcast this week that Justice is an explosive player capable of continuing to produce these explosive plays.

Jordan Marshall has not had the start to the season that many people thought he would. However, Alford said it is only a matter of time until Marshall breaks through. He also mentioned that Marshall is the more physical of the two backs between the tackles. I anticipate he gets a few opportunities this week to punch in a touchdown or two. If this Michigan team is going to have success as an offense this year, he is going to have to be a big part of it. The running backs help lead the scoring for Michigan this week by finding the endzone three or more times.
