Seriously? After a one-point loss that came on the final play of the game, the AP Top 25 voters have chosen to boot Michigan out of the rankings yet again this season. The first time was after Week 1, which made more sense, but this is totally bogus, especially when looking at who is still ranked.
Missouri, a team that was ranked one spot behind the Wolverines, lost by seven points to No. 24 Mississippi State and dropped to No. 25 in this week's rankings. Michigan was ranked No. 18, lost by one point to No. 17 Iowa, and completely fell out of the rankings, so please make that make sense.

The blatant favoritism for SEC teams is too much to overlook now. Michigan didn't play a horrible game against Iowa, who moved up three spots for their win over the Wolverines. So, please explain how they move up so much if Michigan isn't a quality opponent that still deserves to be in the rankings.
Michigan's Top 25 drop should give the Wolverines a chip on their shoulder
This is the second time this season Michigan has fallen out of the rankings, but it's not like they won't have plenty of opportunities to get back in. It may not happen this week as the Wolverines hit the road for the first time this season to take on Minnesota, but then have No. 6 Indiana in Ann Arbor, followed by Penn State, who also fell out of the Top 25.
At least Michigan wasn't the only team to get dropped this week; just look at the Nittany Lions, who arguably had the worst loss to Wisconsin. Now, Michigan did receive votes, but not a lot - only 54, effectively ranking them No. 31 behind teams like Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Wake Forest, and Duke.
Is this disrespect for the Wolverines? Yes, I believe so, but all Michigan can do is dust itself off and get ready for the next game. There is nothing Michigan can do about the loss now, or even the AP voters' decision to drop them like they are hot, but they can play with a chip on their shoulder.
It feels like Michigan's margin of error is minuscule now, based on how the voters have treated the Wolverines, so going forward, they need to win, and they need to win big. Cleaning up undisciplined plays needs to be Kyle Whittingham's first course of action because Zeke Berry's penalty on the final drive gave Iowa the life it needed.
Just a little reminder for Michigan fans: the AP Top 25 isn't the ranking that matters at the end of the season; that would be the College Football Playoff rankings, so if they can impress that selection committee, that is the goal.
