Michigan football had a really successful Early Signing Day. Frankly, it was a success when five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood signed on the dotted line.
However, when it was all said and done, Michigan football signed 11 of the top 205 prospects in the 2025 class (five in the top 100). The Wolverines also landed 13 of the top 299 according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
There is hope that Michigan football will add Andrew Olesh to the mix on Friday. His commitment is still up in the air even though he's been a Michigan commitment for months.
At any rate, once Olesh is in the books, the focus will be entirely on the transfer portal. The Wolveines got started early by hosting former Indiana receiver Donovan McCaulley. He's been projected to the Wolverines by Steve Wiltfong and others.
The 6-foot-5 wideout would fill a huge need. Michigan football also needs offensive line help and Jordan White, the former Liberty offensive lineman has already scheduled a visit according to Pete Nakos of On3.com. Michigan football is also in touch with former Florida State and FAU running back CJ Campbell.
Former USC quarterback Moss Miller is another name on the radar for Michigan football. Even though the Wolverines landed Underwood, they want a veteran QB to mentor and compete with him for the starting job.
Miller would be a great option. He could be a quality starter if Underwood isn't quite ready and has just one year of eligibility left. White has started 23 games over the past two seasons and was second-team all-conference in Conference USA as a center in 2023.
Michigan football transfer portal departures
So far, there haven't been any huge surprises. Tyler Morris, the former four-star recruit is probably the biggest departure at this point. He caught a touchdown in the Rose Bowl win over Alabama but hasn't really emerged in the offense, which was more difficult this season due to the QB position.
Tavierre Dunlap (RB), Raheem Anderson (IOL), and Tristan Bounds (OL) are the other Michigan football players who have departed via the portal.
