The 2025 NFL Draft is one day away, and the Michigan Wolverines could have themselves a big day on Thursday with numerous players being selected in the first round. In the 2024 NFL Draft, Michigan had a program-record 13 players selected, and this year, they could see quite a few taken as well.
Right now, it looks like four players could be slated to be taken in the first round, with many more to follow in the second and third rounds. The first two days of the draft could be big ones for Michigan, but of course, anything can happen in the NFL Draft.
Here is a custom-built, GBM Wolverines mock draft of where each Michigan player could go throughout the seven rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Michigan 2025 NFL mock draft
Graham is one of the top-rated defensive tackles in the draft this year. His explosiveness off the line and great ability to work through blocks are what make him such a desirable first-round pick. While Jacksonville needs some help offensively, they also need a defense that can get stops when needed, and Graham has a great ability to work through the line and get to the quarterback, or at least make him uncomfortable.
Colston Loveland is looking like one of the top tight ends in the draft, rivaling Penn State's Tyler Warren. Loveland may not be the biggest tight end in this draft class, but his explosiveness off the line and into his routes is what makes him so desirable, along with his large catch radius. The Indianapolis Colts need a tight end, and they are probably still deciding between Warren and Loveland, but Loveland might fit more of what the Colts are looking for in this case.
Kenneth Grant may team back up with former head coach Jim Harbaugh with the Los Angeles Chargers. Grant has even said that being drafted by the Chargers adn reuniting with Harbaugh would mean a lot to him. The Chargers certainly need help defensively, and Grant could be a key addition on the line. With fast hands and the ability to slip blocks, Grant has good speed for his size to bear down on the quarterback. He is also active in defending passes, with 12 passes defended in the last two seasons.
There is a possibility that two Michigan players could go back-to-back here, with Johnson being taken by the Green Bay Packers. The Packers seriously need help in their secondary, as they were thinner than paper and allowed a lot of big plays in the air. Johnson has great speed to keep up with a receiver in routes, but also has a keen ability to read the quarterback's eyes in coverage. He has nine career interceptions, returning three of those for touchdowns, so he has a nose for the ball in the air.
Michigan may not have a player taken in the second round, but could follow up with a pick in the third round with Josaia Stewart going to the Arizona Cardinals. Stewart has good speed off the nap on the edge of the line and is able to get under the block of the offensive lineman. He can get through blocks from running backs well with great power and then overwhelm the quarterback, but also has good awareness when dropping back into coverage.
