Michigan football fans were already excited about the potential of five-star signee Carter Meadows, the top-ranked recruit signed by the Wolverines in the 2026 class.
The 6-foot-6, 225-pound EDGE out of Washington, D.C., is ranked as the No. 9 prospect overall in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Meadows isn't enrolling early. However, that doesn't mean that he can't make an early impact. It remains to be seen if he can be a factor next season for Michigan football, which does need pass rushers, but a recent workout video leaves no doubt that the ceiling is incredibly high.
Michigan football signee Carter Meadows looks like a future star
Meadows, who was recruited by every top program in the country, including Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, and the rest of the blue bloods, needs more polish. However, the raw potential is clearly on display in this video posted by Brice Marich of The Michigan Insider.
At 6-foot-6, 235-pounds, incoming #Michigan 5⭐️ EDGE Carter Meadows (@CarterMeadows_) will be a problem early on.

Scary part… he will only be getting bigger and stronger before arriving to Ann Arbor this summer. pic.twitter.com/VfWTYPfkOu
Marich wrote on X that Meadows was 6-foot-6, 235 pounds, and the recruiting reporter for The Michigan Insider believes he can be a "problem" early on in his Michigan football career.
Looking at the EDGE depth chart, Meadows could easily work his way into the mix. John Henry Daley, assuming he's healthy at the start of the season, should have one of the starting jobs locked down. Dominic Nichols, Nate Marshall, and Cameron Brandt are others expected to be in the mix for playing time.
If Meadows can adapt to the college game quickly, when he arrives this summer, and during fall camp, it wouldn't be shocking to see him work his way into the mix. People who are 6-foot-6, 235 pounds, aren't supposed to move like that.
