The recruiting sweep spot

Dusty May has said that he wants to focus on high school recruiting and Michigan basketball fans should take him at his word.

The Wolverines hit the transfer portal hard this offseason. They had to in order to rebuild the roster, but in the future, it will be better to recruit players who will be in the system for multiple years.

Five-star Trey McKenney might not fit that mold, but if you can get a five-star guard, you do what you can to get him. Michigan has been missing those kinds of players. Grady isn't a five-star but he's risen up the rankings, in large part due to what he's shown in on-ball situations.

Yet, Grady feels like a guy who could be in the program for multiple years and play at a really high level. He's not a one-and-done but is a player who could develop into a pro player, which is exactly who Dusty May should be recruiting to Michigan, just like John Beilein.
