A different kind of five-star

Michigan basketball fans remember well that five-star recruits don't necessarily mean wins. The Wolverines signed the No. 1 class back in 2022 and barely made the NCAA tournament.

Caleb Houstan and Moussa Diabate were solid players for the Wolverines but they didn't necessarily live up to the hype. That's why you need to be careful recruiting those players because sometimes you can get a super talented prospect who isn't quite ready for college basketball.

McKenney feels different though. He's much more polished and feels ready to make an immediate impact. May is only going to help him improve his game and it's going to be fun to see what he grows into as a Wolverine.
