In a game where Bruce Thorton broke some Big Ten tournament records, the Buckeyes conceded to the Wolverines for the fourth time since Dusty May took over the job in Ann Arbor. Here are three takeaways from the razor-thin 71-67 win over the Buckeyes.

Aday Mara outscored Bruce Thorton in all three wins over the Buckeyes

Without much of an impact from the Big Ten player of the year, Mara elevated his game on both ends of the floor. He's totaled 52 points and eight blocks against the Buckeyes in 2026. As for the Buckeyes, they had as many fast-break points as Yaxel Lendeborg had total points. Lendeborg's only basket came when he posturized Christoph Tilly in the first half of play. Ohio State's all-time leading scorer poured in 22 and 48 in the three losses to the Wolverines.

Morez Johnson Jr.'s postgame pranks are becoming more sarcastic with every win

It's become a ritual that following every game when Dusty May or one of his teammates gets interviewed that Johnson stands behind him like a statue and is just staring into the camera with a faceless expression. May did it at Illinois and that has turned into a meme or gif that is being used all over social media. On Friday Johnson was given of pair of sunglasses to make the look even more outrageous.

This is the fastest that Michigan basketball has ever reached 30 wins in program history

For just the sixth time ever, Michigan basketball has broken the 30-win barrier. Never before have they exceeded it this fast, though. We all know that 38 is the only number that matters to them because that will result in a national championship next month. Much like the Ohio State win on Friday, from here on out, it is going to be like grinding your teeth.
