Morez Johnson Jr. notched his second double-double of the season as Michigan basketball mopped the floor with McNeese State. The Wolverines have won six games by 40 points or more, something that hasn't happened since the late 1980s.
Here are some takeaways from the mugging of the Southland Texas mid-major, which may be an entrant in March's field of 68. Remember, it wasn't that long ago that McNeese State invaded Crisler and left with more than just a hefty paycheck.
Only Georgia is scoring more points per game then Michigan is this season
Coming into Monday night, Michigan was third in scoring, but with the 112-point outburst, they jumped over Akron into second place. Georgia leads the nation with 100 points per, but only scored 100-plus in six games, compared to the seven for Michigan. Michigan is on the cusp of averaging 100 themselves, but the schedule ramps up beginning on Friday. Georgia still scored 94 in its lone loss to Clemson.
McNeese fouled Michigan basketball 30 times
It resulted in a season-high 45 attempts from the charity stripe and 31 of those freebies went through the nets. The previous high was 29 fouls in the Wake Forest squeaker. McNeese big man Jerrell Colbert fouled out in seven minutes. Coincidentally, Malick Kordel almost equaled Colbert's fouls and in the very same amount of minutes.
McNeese is very good, likely a 12-ish seed in the NCAA Tournament. They came into Crisler and won exactly 2 years ago. This is not a team accustomed to getting its ass kicked.

All Michigan games should be televised, not streamed on apps
When you're the No. 1 or No. 2 team in the country in the midst of a special season, every game should be free to watch. That's not the world we live in anymore, though. Three of Michigan's next eight games will be broadcast on Peacock, including Friday's tilt with USC at Crisler. The streaming services are affordable, but have issues with freezing delays.
