Despite a debilitating last-second loss to Iowa, the sky is not falling yet. Thanks to some timely mistakes and wasted opportunities, Michigan football now has to decide whether or not the season is worth saving.
Karma bit them on Saturday and can destroy their season if they allow it to. On the bright side, nothing is finalized in September, and everything is worth saving from an internal standpoint.

Don't listen to the fans and stay off social media
Whenever Michigan football loses, the fan base wants to blame a scapegoat and fire the coach immediately. Some stoop to Ohio State's level and embarrass themselves by arguing about it with total strangers on their platforms. They tweet at players and coaches in their disdain for them, and nothing really comes of it.
If I were the coach or a player on the team, I would tell them to do the same and go cheer for someone else. If Michigan wins at Ohio State in November, then all will be forgiven like nothing ever happened, and they will be singing their praises instead of calling for their jobs or transfers.
Michigan can win their next two games setting up a massive showdown with Indiana
On paper, Michigan should be favored to go to Minnesota and win, then return home for a winnable affair against Penn State after a bye week. The Nittany Lions looked unstoppable until they blew a double-digit lead to Wisconsin at home and lost. That means 5-1 is a realistic outcome heading into the Indiana confrontation next month. Beat Indiana, and they are right back in the race as November unfolds.
Iowa is likely a playoff team
There's a good chance that Iowa finishes at 11-1 this year with their lone loss coming at the hands of Ohio State next week. After that they will not play one ranked team and wouldn't be excluded from the tournament. Remember the last time that Michigan lost to Iowa, they were one yard short of winning in Columbus.
