Thanksgiving weekend is always an important one for Michigan football, because the holiday comes two days before the Ohio State game.

The past four years have been incredible for the Wolverines. Each Thanksgiving weekend has proven more memorable than the next.

This season has been another good one for Michigan football. It hasn't been perfect. But it's just one of the reasons why fans of the Michigan Wolverines should be thankful on Thanksgiving day.

The bright future of Michigan football

The Wolverines are still alive for the College Football Playoff. If the ball bounces right, Michigan could still win the Big Ten championship.

Michigan football didn't compete for the Big Ten championship last season. But in 2025, they are one of four teams still alive going into the last weekend. That's something, especially with a true freshman quarterback, and six freshman or redshirt freshman starting on offense.

Whether Michigan beats Ohio State or not, the Wolverines are gearing up for another run at the national championship, thanks to Bryce Underwood and his development. Andrew Marsh is another thing to be thankful for, along with the offensive line.

The best team in college basketball

Michigan fans should be thankful for a men's basketball team that just did something that hasn't been done before, according to ESPN, which is defeating two AP Top-25 opponents by 30 in back-to-back games. That was the first time in the AP Poll era.

Michigan basketball is ranked No. 1 in the Kenpom rankings after a beatdown of Gonzaga. The Wolverines beat two ranked teams by an average of 35, and truly, Michigan might have the best offense, as well as the best defense, in college hoops.

Michigan is an everything school

The Wolverines are the first team in five years to have their football team, men's basketball team, men's hockey team, and women's basketball team ranked in the top 15 at the same time. The last school to do that was Michigan.

It's going to be a fun winter sports season with both basketball teams capable of the Final Four. The hockey team is ranked No. 1 and Michigan football can make it five in a row on Saturday.
