The 2024 Michigan football season hasn't been memorable. It's actually one that most fans will want to forget.

However, the 6-5 Wolverines still have the chance to pull a massive upset on Ohio State, while knocking the Buckeyes out of the Big Ten championship game.

That alone would make the season a success. And the future for Michigan football got a lot brighter recently with the commitment of Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 overall quarterback, as well as the top-ranked prospect in the entire 2025 recruiting class.

Underwood has been compared to Vince Young and Michigan football fans know firsthand how good that dude was in college, putting together a Rose Bowl performance for the ages one year before torching USC to win the national title.

Hopefully, there will be moments like that in the future for the Wolverines, and with that in mind, here are three things for Michigan football fans to give thanks for this Thanksgiving.

The national championship

Michigan football did win the national championship earlier this year. It's hard to remember sometimes but that did happen in January 2024.

Michigan beat Alabama in that epic game on January 1st in the Rose Bowl. That will always feel like the true national championship game but the win over Washington was sweet and regardless of all the noise from rivals, nobody will ever be able to take away that national championship.

The NCAA did Michigan a favor by bringing the Connor Stalions stuff to light, which literally means that the Wolverines didn't have any unfair advantage and beat five top-15 teams in six games to win the national title.

It was fair and square and it's a reason for Michigan fans to give thanks. That was the last, best, college football team we'll ever see.
