The Wolverines played like a team with a purpose on Saturday. They made Central Michigan feel the pain of loss from a week ago. Chip Lindsey ripped the chains off of Bryce Underwood, and no one regretted it one bit. Michigan scored 50 more points than it recorded in the Oklahoma debacle. Many second and third stringers got an ample amount of time to hone their crafts for the future beyond Saturday.
Here are some of the most amusing overreactions from Saturday's blowout victory.
1. The Mr. Brightside song needs to be retired once and for all
A lot of folks have been clamoring for the Mr. Brightside tradition to come to an abrupt end. I must admit that I agree with them, but the student section and annual ticket holders love to sing-along to The Killers' big hit. The Big Ten Network only featured it because the game was out of hand and they had to fill time during the broadcast.
There are an endless amount of songs that Michigan could use to replace it including In the Big House by Pop Evil. I get that its all about having a good time and singing along to a catchy tune, but the song is about cheating. Jokes aside, that's not a great match given the recent history that surrounds the program from the outsiders.
So I wouldn't call it an overreaction from my standpoint, but to those who enjoy the anthem being played loud and proud weekly, it's an overreaction. Let the home crowd enjoy the song, especially if Michigan is winning.
