Michigan Football is coming off a much-needed bye week as the Wolverines get ready to close out the last part of the season. With everything still very much in front of them regarding playoff chances, this team is battling injuries and trying to get healthy for the most important game of the year.

A couple of injury updates for the Wolverines, it is said that Cole Sullivan is pretty much healed and should be a go for the next game against Northwestern. Other news we have heard is that Justice Haynes is considered week-to-week, as he had foot surgery and is looking to be back for the Ohio State game.

With all these injuries, it is important that Michigan football takes these games very seriously and doesn't overlook the lesser opponents ahead of the big game. The depth has been a question for Michigan, and after a scrappy game with Purdue, it is still a big concern.

Who will be able to step up when needed for the Wolverines in these next couple games against Northwestern and Maryland before we get to Ohio State? Here are some players who can make an impact after the bye week to help with the depth issues.

Bryson Kuzdzal

Bryson Kuzdzal has been rumored to be the new backup to Jordan Marshall, as he saw some good touches late against Purdue, and the coaching staff loved what they saw. The junior out of Grand Rapids has waited his turn and is expected to see more touches in relief of Jordan Marshall.

We saw Jasper Parker in the backfield for the past couple of weeks, and although he is still a freshman, it seems he still has a lot to learn to be more consistent in this backfield.

Kuzdzal is averaging more yards per carry and that is more than enough for coaches to see, given his minimal opportunities in games. He has made the most of his opportunities, and it is time to give him more touches to help find the depth in the running back room without Justice Haynes.

Jamar Browder

Browder has been seen in games a good bit this season as he has gotten lost in the rotating wide receiver room that has been a huge struggle for the Wolverines this year. He played a good bit in the Purdue game, where we saw him wide open over the middle of the field after a missed throw by Bryce Underwood.

A play that looked like a sure touchdown if executed properly. That could've completely turned his season around.

With all the struggles at wide receiver this season, it could be a big asset to the offense if someone can emerge as a new target for Bryce Underwood.

Tre Williams

Tre Williams has already been a big piece to this defensive line this season but there has been some inconsistency in who is getting more snaps during the game. Williams looks dominant when he comes into games, and he is a great run stopper.

Derrick Moore has been the most consistent lineman for Michigan this year, as he is showing his veteran leadership by getting to the quarterback on a consistent basis. Tre Williams has been a great addition, and Michigan is known for having these dominant defensive tackles, but will he be able to keep it up when Michigan football needs it most?

A big factor late in the season is controlling the line of scrimmage and with the right rotation in Michigan has one of the best defensive lines in the country.
