Michigan finally got a play to go their way
Former Wolverine Chris Wormley tweeted after the win that Michigan had some bad breaks in the past, but this is one of those wacky plays that made up for it. He's not wrong, but that was as big as a fluke play as I have ever seen watching Michigan football. Over the years Michigan's had plenty of breaks go their way, but that was pure luck.
Michigan did not deserve to have one second left on the clock to begin with. Western Michigan was flat-out robbed, and many Wolverines loyalists agree. The game should have never come down to that situation in the first place. That makes this a slight overreaction by Wormley and others.

Michigan fans were justified in rushing the field
Leaving the stands because you beat a MAC team at home is embarrassing and unnecessary. Michigan fans should have just stayed off the field and celebrated the win without feeling ashamed of themselves. I'm aware of how pandemonium the moment was, but if the tides were turned, then it would make more sense for Western to do it. This is an overreaction that will get criticized and made fun of for a while.

Debates will rage on for a long time about the final second of this instant classic. What transpired is now in the history books, and Western Michigan can sue all they want, but it won't change the outcome of the game. The refs should explain their reasoning behind their decision and move on, which they did. Apologizing in football makes everyone look weak, and that's why this is an overreaction that is unethical.
