RB Trevor Etienne

Another position that Michigan football could be looking to add a player in the transfer portal is at running back.

It probably depends on what Donovan Edwards does. It seems like he would come back for another season. Michigan football needs to be more effective in getting him the ball, but with Blake Corum headed to the NFL, another proven back wouldn’t be a bad thing.

Kalel Mullings definitely seems ready for a bigger role. CJ Stokes, Benjamin Hall, and Cole Cabana will be looking for a bigger role this season, plus top-100 running back Jordan Marshall will be joining the Wolverines too.

So the need for a running back isn’t that dire. But if Edwards doesn’t return, Michigan football could use a proven back and Trevor Etienne of Florida is a possible candidate.

Clemson seems like a natural fit since his brother played there, but if not, Michigan football could be in the mix and it’s a move that would seem to make sense for both sides.

Etienne averaged 5.3 yards per carry in the SEC and few offenses in college football want to pound the rock like Michigan. That’s got to be attractive to running backs and you could see the Wolverines being the landing spot for a back like Etienne.
