Another Big Ten West blowout?

The Wolverines beat Iowa 42-3 in the last Big Ten championship game and while I don’t see that being the result on Saturday night, Michigan dominated Big Ten West opponents in 2023.

Two of the games were on the road and to be fair, none of the three teams Michigan beat had winning records. However, the Wolverines beat Nebraska 45-10, Minnesota 49-10, and Purdue 42-13.

Nebraska turned the ball over multiple times, missed a field goal, and still almost beat Iowa last Friday. Minnesota did beat the Hawkeyes on their home field and in a comparable game, Penn State defeated Iowa 31-0 in Happy Valley.

Yet, the Hawkeyes have gotten better over the course of the season. Deacon Hill is actually close to 50 percent on his completion percentage (48 percent) and LeShon Williams is running the ball really well.

Cade McNamara might be able to help the Iowa offense a little from a scouting perspective, but it also wouldn’t be shocking if this was a little lopsided, because the Big Ten West has been so bad.
