Putting aside distractions

The game before the Ohio State game always worries me. This Michigan football team has a lot of other things to worry about, but you can bet they have the Ohio State game circled.

I am worried about Maryland though. This team has been adding talent and they were leading Ohio State in the second half before the wheels fell off.

If the Wolverines aren’t focused or aren’t at their best, Maryland can make this game competitive. A loss wouldn’t hurt Michigan in the Big Ten title race — next week’s game is for the Big Ten East title regardless — but the Wolverines can’t afford a loss in the playoff chase.

A loss would mean that Michigan might not control its destiny going into the final week of the season. That’s not where the Wolverines want to be.
