Can the running game keep rolling?

In order to beat a top-10 team on the road, you need elite players and Michigan’s running backs were elite in the win over Penn State.

Blake Corum rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns. He also had two runs of 30 yards or longer against the best-rushing defense in college football.

Those explosive runs were huge and they were vintage Corum. What really excited me though were a couple of explosive runs from Donovan Edwards. He had a 22-yard touchdown run and had another explosive run.

That should give Edwards a confidence boost which I think was needed. I expect him to play a big role as a receiver in the next two weeks — remember he went for over 100 yards receiving against Maryland in 2021.

The offensive line was able to generate a push last week and all of the extra tight ends certainly helped. I’d expect to see a lot of that in the next two weeks too.
