Handing out game balls and grades from the Michigan football win over Michigan State last Saturday.

It probably sounds like a broken record at this point, but Michigan football put together another dominant performance in Big Ten play.

The Wolverines beat the Spartans 49-0 and it could have been 63 or 70 if Michigan football really wanted to run the score up on Michigan State.

J.J. McCarthy threw four touchdown passes and the offense accounted for over 400 total yards while Michigan State didn’t even hit 200. It was as lopsided a win as Michigan football has had this season.

In five Big Ten games, Michigan has outscored its opponents 229-31. U-M has scored 45 points or more in four straight games and looking back at the Michigan State win, here are the grades and game balls.

Game balls: J.J. McCarthy, Colston Loveland, and Mike Sainristil

McCarthy put himself into the Heisman Trophy mix with his performance this past weekend, which earned him Co-Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors.

J.J. threw four touchdown passes and two of them went to Colston Loveland. On the first, McCarthy avoided the rush and threw a dart on the run to Loveland. The second was a pass that would make Aaron Rodgers proud in his heyday.

The other game ball goes to Mike Sainristil who put the exclamation point on the win for Michigan football with his 72-yard interception return for a touchdown.

A.J. Barner deserves a shoutout too. Roman Wilson also caught his 10th touchdown and Blake Corum scored his 13th rushing touchdown.
