Michigan football vs. UNLV: 3 keys to a Wolverines win
Game two for Michigan football is on Saturday and here are three keys to a win for the Wolverines against UNLV.
For the second straight week, Michigan football will have a different head coach and also a non-Power-5 opponent as the UNLV Running Rebels come to the Big House on Saturday.
Mike Hart and Jay Harbaugh will share the duties of interim head coach in the absence of Jim Harbaugh, with each taking a half.
However, as a 37-point favorite, Michigan football should be able to take care of business just like it did last week against East Carolina. With that in mind, here are three keys for the Wolverines to achieve that objective.
Control the line of scrimmage
Plenty of Michigan football fans have expressed concern about the running game last week, but the Wolverines still did a good job on the offensive line.
J.J. McCarthy had a pretty clean pocket. East Carolina just was determined to stop the run. UNLV allowed nearly 4.5 yards per attempt last week against Bryant, so that might be a struggle, but the Rebels are certain to try a similar approach.
Michigan needs to find a way to be successful in spite of that, and let’s not forget, Blake Corum did average 7.3 yards per carry last week.
But on both sides of the ball, Michigan football should dominate in the trenches which is always a basic key to victory for the Wolverines.
