DT, Kris Jenkins

I debated having Kris Jenkins on this list. He’s probably been the most talked about player in Michigan football fall camp so far and the word many are using is “monster.”

Flat out, Jenkins should be on an NFL roster right now. He was good enough last season to be a day-two pick.

However, Jenkins, whose dad and uncle both played in the NFL, wants to be a first-round pick and that’s where most of the mock drafts have him going.

But man, it was hard for defensive coordinator Jesse Minter to contain his excitement when talking about Jenkins on Thursday and it’s clear he’s taken another step forward, especially as a pass rusher.

Minter said that Jenkins has been obsessed with being an elite pass rusher. It reminds me of the way coaches talked about Aidan Hutchinson before 2021.

I’m not saying Jenkins is going to have that sort of season, but he could easily be a consensus All-American and could be the best D-lineman in the Big Ten, at least on the interior.
