With the 2023 Michigan football season just around the corner, here are five Wolverines that are going to blow up.

Michigan football is one of the most talented college football teams in the country. That’s not an opinion. It’s a fact.

Jim Harbaugh recently said that he thinks as many as 20 Michigan football players could be drafted next April and it’s not an exaggeration.

What’s crazy is that some of the best players on the 2023 Michigan football team might not even be draft eligible. Seriously, the Wolverines have a bunch of sophomores ready to have true breakout campaigns.

You won’t find household names like J.J. McCarthy or Donovan Edwards on this list. Not even Will Johnson, who to be quite frank, is on the radar of plenty of NFL teams already.

This list isn’t necessarily about the NFL or anything like that, more just about five guys that should be well-known after this season by college football fans everywhere.

TE Colston Loveland

Colston Loveland flashed his potential last season and had four straight games (the last four Big Ten games) with at least one reception of 20 yards or more.

That streak ended against TCU. His longest gain was 16 yards, but Loveland played spectacular plays against Ohio State and Purdue in the Big Ten title game and that’s what I expect over the course of the 2023 season.

It wouldn’t shock me at all if he led the Wolverines in touchdown receptions this season. But I think he’ll be more productive than people realize — as in the 700-yard range or so.

This will be the season that Loveland starts to generate his own buzz as a first-round pick.
