Michigan basketball has never beaten the Wake Forest Demon Deacons

  • Overall series record: 0-1
  • First matchup: November 28, 2000
  • Last matchup: November 28, 2000
  • Last Score: Wake Forest 71, Michigan 60

The ACC/Big Ten challenge was an exciting event for more than two decades, but it featured just a single matchup between the Wolverines and the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest.

These two schools met up in Ann Arbor back in late Nov. 2000. Ranked No. 13 in the nation at the time, Wake Forest certainly came in as the favorites and left town with an 11-point victory led by star forwards Josh Howard and Darius Songalia.

Wake Forest was a great program at the beginning of the century, though they’ve never found their way onto Michgian’s schedule at any other point in these programs’ histories.
