Michigan football is undefeated against these ACC teams
The Wolverines have actually been pretty successful against the ACC and are undefeated against eight of the 14 teams that play football in the ACC right now.
Boston College: The Eagles are 0-4 against Michigan and all four losses came in the 1990s. Michigan football and BC played a pair of home-away series with the last one ending in 1996. Three of the games were decided by single digits but U-M won all four.
Duke: The Blue Devils don’t have a strong football history and their record against Michigan is just bad. Duke is 0-6 and three of those games were decided by 21 points or more.
Georgia Tech: Michigan hosted the Yellow Jackets in a memorable affair back in 1934 that ended with a final score of 9-2 in favor of the Wolverines.
North Carolina State: It’s been so long since Michigan and NC State met, the bowl game they played in — now the Outback Bowl — was called the Hall of Fame Bowl. Michigan won 42-7 in Tampa and that’s the only meeting with the Wolfpack.
Pittsburgh: With their proximity, you’d think Pittsburgh and Michigan football would have played more than twice. But the last meeting was in 1947 and the Wolverines own a 2-0 mark in the series.
Virginia: Michigan is 3-0 against the Cavaliers with the last win coming in the 1995 Pigskin Classic. Scott Dreisbach, a freshman starting quarterback, threw a touchdown pass to Mercury Hayes as time expired to give U-M the win.
Virginia Tech: The only meeting between the Wolverines and Hokies came in the 2011 Sugar Bowl. That was one of Brady Hoke’s best wins and it’s still the last major bowl victory for the Michigan football program. U-M won the game in overtime.
Wake Forest: The Demon Deacons made two trips to Ann Arbor, once in 1976 and another in 1988, and both times, Michigan won handily.
