Michigan football hit the jackpot with his 2022 freshmen class with three of them trending towards starting in this year’s lineup and more contributors continuing to develop.

Mason Graham, Colston Loveland, and Will Johnson are three sophomores who played huge roles as freshmen for Michigan football.

Johnson was expected to as a five-star recruit, while Graham and Loveland pleasantly broke out. Their futures are beaming with promise. There’s no doubt that head coach Jim Harbaugh will trust his staff to produce more from the latest class to step foot on campus.

These are three of the Michigan football freshmen who could follow them and contribute immediately in some way.

1. Cornerback Jyaire Hill

With Josh Wallace on loan for a year and the current uncertainty at cornerback, makes this plausible. Amorion Walker didn’t show enough positive signs in the spring game and may not be ready to be counted on by the time things get figured out.

Ja’den McBurrows had a better performance than Walker in the spring affair and is another name that is in the mix for the job opposite Johnson. Not to mention the job that Steve Clinkscale has done since he got to Michigan with his cornerback group.

Rod Moore believes Jyaire Hill can play this year on special teams to get him on the field. Being an early enrollee will help him see action quicker than others.

Hill could get snaps in the preseason part of the schedule to transition him into the college game. He also has experience returning kicks and punts. The coaches may give him a run there as well after the transfer of A.J. Henning.
