Michigan football all-time Lloyd Carr team, O-line: Jake Long, Steve Hutchinson, David Baas, Jeff Backus, and Jon Jansen,

Michigan football won a lot of games when Carr was the head coach thanks to the elite play of the offensive line.

Putting together the starting five required a “best five approach” as Jon Jansen and Jake Long technically played the same position. Either could play right or left tackle. Jeff Backus is also bumping inside to guard on this list.

Long, Hutchinson, Baas, and Jansen were each First-Team All-Americans during their time with the Michigan Wolverines. Jeff Backus was also a two-time First-Team All-Big Ten selection and the fact that he has to be put at guard to make this team shows you loaded the Wolverines were.

For decades, Michigan football was known for its offensive line play and in the late 1990s there were a lot of really good ones.
