Michigan football was hoping to land the commitment of Terhyon Nichols this weekend, but that doesn’t look like that will happen now.

The Michigan football program has won a lot of recruiting battles so far in the 2024 class. Heck, the Wolverines have 24 commitments and 16 of them are ranked as four-star recruits (blue chips).

Michigan football is going to be adding to that total. It seems like the final number could be closer to 30 and one of the remaining targets is four-star cornerback Terhyon Nichols.

Yet, there is a new crystal ball prediction for Nichols to wind up committing to Kentucky. He’ll be announcing his final choice this weekend. The cornerback visited Michigan football last weekend and there was hope the Wolverines could pull this one out, but it’s fading.

The On3 prediction machine also favors Kentucky in this recruitment. The Wildcats have strong ties to Ohio from the head coach Mark Stoops on down, so it’s not that shocking. They have also made Nichols a priority longer and it looks like it will pay off with a commitment.

There’s still time for Michigan football to pull it out, but a prediction this late before a commitment announcement isn’t a very good sign.

Another Michigan football target is projected to Kentucky

This isn’t the first recruit this cycle that has been projected to land with the Wildcats. Brian Robinson is another and the four-star EDGE has gotten a crystal ball prediction from Steve Wiltfong to commit to Kentucky.

Robinson is another Ohio recruit. Nichols is ranked ninth in the state of Ohio, while Robinson ranks even higher. He’s 105th overall via the 247 Sports composite rankings and the No. 4 player in the state of Ohio in the 2024 class.

Michigan football was trending as the favorite earlier this month. Then, it seemed like there was a shift. It’s hard to know what happened but the Wolverines are trending to land four-star EDGE Elias Rudolph and also Jacob Smith.

I would have liked Robinson though. He’s 6-foot-5, 255 pounds. But, Kentucky recruits well in Ohio and it looks like the Wildcats are on the verge of landing two top-10 recruits from the Buckeye State that U-M had its eye on.
