Michigan Wolverines news: Elite 2025 QB to visit Michigan football, missing out on a transfer, and more
There’s plenty of Michigan Wolverines news to cover as Michigan football will host an elite QB for a three-day visit, plus a miss for Michigan basketball and much more.
We’ll start our Michigan Wolverines news roundup with some fresh news about the Michigan football team and its quarterback recruiting in the 2025 class.
Five-star Bryce Underwood is clearly the top target. That hasn’t changed but Michigan football isn’t putting all of its eggs in one basket as it did during the 2023 and 2024 recruiting cycles.
And Michigan football has been in the mix with a few 2025 signal-callers. Another to know is George MacIntyre. The 6-foot-5,182-pounder is ranked No. 2 in the 2025 class (13th overall) and according to Brice Marich, he’ll take a three-day visit to see the Michigan Wolverines soon.
That’s really big news and right now, it has Michigan football on solid footing with the top two quarterbacks in the 2025 class. Underwood would still be my choice. He’s the third top-100 quarterback from the state in the past three cycles — it’s time to land one.
However, if Michigan football misses on Underwood, you can’t go wrong with MacIntyre, who attends the same high school as current Wolverine Junior Colson.
Michigan basketball misses out on Antonio Reeves
Antonio Reeves never made it into the transfer portal and he’s not going to after it was reported on Wednesday that he would be returning to the Kentucky Wildcats.
Michigan basketball was rumored to be a team of interest if Reeves actually entered the portal. But the dynamic scoring guard found his way back to Kentucky.
For Michigan basketball, it leaves few options available. We’ve seen Juwan Howard pull a rabbit out of his hat before and he might need to do it again.
The problem is that Michigan baskeball can only work with the talent in the transfer portal. And right now, the pickings are slim in terms of wings/guards.
