The recruitment of Olivier Nkamhoua continues to drag on and it appears a fourth team will get a visit before Michigan basketball.

You might be getting sick of reading about Olivier Nkamhoua, just like I’m getting sick of writing about his recruitment, but he’s that important to Michigan basketball.

The Wolverines need to add another guard and another combo wing or center would be nice. But at the very least, Michigan basketball needs to add someone who is a proven scorer and in terms of frontcourt options, Nkamhoua is among the best.

Nkamhoua averaged just under 11 points per game last season with Tennessee and the flurry of interest shows you how important he could be for the Wolverines.

West Virigina was thought to be the main rival and still could be after the former Tennessee graduate visited there this weekend.

However, before making a scheduled visit to Michigan basketball next weekend, Nkamhoua is taking other visits, at least two, according to the (Twitter account) Trilly Donovan who has proven to be pretty reliable when it comes to college basketball scoops.

Joe Tipton reported that Nkamhoua was visiting Kansas State on Saturday and Trilly Donovan tweeted this morning he’s hearing that Nkamhoua is going to take another visit before Michigan.

He didn’t say where it was. Some folks mentioned it could be another Big-12 school but that’s just speculation. It wouldn’t be surprising given the proximity but as long as Nkamhoua makes it to Ann Arbor, I’ll feel good about the Wolverines chances.

NIL is going to be a factor and according to Chris Balas of The Wolverine, Michigan baskeball should be in a better spot. He’s hinted at something positive but who knows with the Wolverines NIL and I don’t know if it will beat the other offers.

That’s why more teams getting involved is always a concern.

Juwan Howard does have something else to sell. He’s a proven developer of talent and just about every single Michigan basketball player has improved their stock in recent years.

Two more guys will get drafted this June and that’s the second year in a row. Plus, the Wolverines have a scoring void that needs to be filled.

Plus, if Nkamhoua is on the roster, it will help make up for the loss of Caleb Love and make an NCAA tournament bid more possible.
