Another positive for Michigan football and elite 2024 running back
Michigan football got another good sign in the recruitment of elite 2024 running back Taylor Tatum with another expert projection for the Wolverines.
Not long ago, Michigan football target Taylor Tatum was upgraded to the No. 1 running back in the country according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Soon after, there is more reason to feel good about the Wolverines’ chances of landing his commitment.
Michigan football has already received a crystal ball projection from Mike Roach a Texas insider for 247 sports. Tatum is from Longview, Texas, and is ranked No. 31 overall in the 2024 class, as well as first among running backs and sixth in the state of Texas.
That crystal ball carries weight to me. Roach is plugged in and he’s not the only recruiting expert projecting Tatum to Michigan football.
The futurecast picks from Rivals have all been going in Michigan football’s direction including a new pick from Trevor McCue of the Maize and Blue Review which came in on Thursday.
Still work to do for Wolverines
Those four projections are it right now in terms of recruiting analysts and plenty of big names have abstained so far.
Sam Webb (The Michigan Insider), Steve Lornez (247 Sports), Steve Wiltfong, (247 Sports), and EJ Holland of The Wolverine haven’t gone that far yet.
However, it’s clear that Michigan football is the frontrunner. USC and Oklahoma are also heavily in the mix. The Sooners and Trojans are getting official visits in June before the Wolverines, but June 23rd could be a huge opportunity for U-M to lock up a massive commitment.
Jadyn Davis was huge and so was Jordan Marshall. Tatum would be right in that mix. He’s likely going to be ranked as a five-star recruit at some point and Michigan football has lots to sell.
Tatum said he’d love to be part of a 1-2 running back tandem like Donovan Edwards and Blake Corum. If he comes to U-M, that dream will come true and it’s hard to think of any program that likes to pound the rock more than Michigan football.
There’s a long way to go in this recruitment, but for now, at least, I’d rather be Michigan than anyone else.
