13. Rick Volk, defensive back

Rick Volk is a name that old-school Michigan football fans will remember. He had a 12-year NFL career but is best known for his time with the Baltimore Colts, a franchise that he was part of when it won the Super Bowl after the 1970 season.

Volk was well ahead of his time as a defensive back and had a knack for making plays on the ball. He finished his career with 38 interceptions and had at least four interceptions in seven of his 12 seasons, a streak that included his first six years in the league when he nabbed 28 picks.

Volk’s best season came in 1971 when he was selected to his third Pro Bowl and also earned First-Team All-Pro honors from the Associated Press.

Another fine moment came during his rookie season when he returned an interception 93 yards for a touchdown.
